Everybody Loves The Sunshine

Welcome to Eclipse Season 2019!!!

Today is the much awaited New Moon and Solar Eclipse.  I remember the 2017 eclipse and how we decided to forego working to hang out as a department and view the celestial wonder.  Most of us didn't have the special glasses, but someone brought in a telescope and we were able to rig it and show the moon's transition on a piece of paper.  Ingenuity!  We also shared the sunglasses and bonded as a group.  At least for that day.

What is a solar eclipse?  What's they hype about?  The Solar Eclipse happens when the moon blocks the sun and is visible to all of us.  Depending on the position of both celestial bodies, you may be lucky enough to experience it in totality.  Most of us will not notice at all, however it can be felt energetically by everyone.  Solar Eclipse can only happen during the New Moon as that's the time when the moon does not reflect the sun's light.  When the eclipse reaches its peak, the combination of sun and moon creates a nighttime halo effect.

Cancer rules the Fourth House which is the area of family, stability, security.  It's the foundation, our roots.  Which falls neatly in line with the timing of the eclipse, as it is occurring close to the hours of sunset.  Where are you set in your ways?  Where are you so unmovable?  What happens when you are challenged, shaken, disrupted and your foundation is revealed to have several cracks?  What will you do?  Who will you then become? 

This time will expose where our traditions need to either be refined or removed.  The Universe will highlight where we have stayed complacent due to comfort and need to burn off what should be no more.  What is keeping you held in place?  What is your block?  Are you the block?  Sometimes we are passed on philosophies that in their root are based upon generational fear.  And we follow them, pass them on which adds another link to the chain, to bondage.  And everything we do, say, think reflects the limited beliefs and hesitation in expanding.  Yes, Cancer is a cardinal sign, a doer, however are you only moving and creating in box. 

The Eclipse in Cancer will bring about a bit of disorder in your well kept organized way of having control.  It's night time during the hours of daylight, saying this is the time for your innovation, your creation, expression to come out of the shadows and receive the rays of the sun to blossom and grow.  It's highlighting all aspects and begs the questions "What needs to stay, and what needs to go? When the gaze of others falls away, when you are alone, in the deepest recesses of your mind, who are you?"

This is a very powerful energy that should not be met with fear and doubt.  Free yourself up to discover.  Set the intention to flow and create.  Not just a thing but the person, the you.  Once that's done, the security you seek, the family structure you treasure, the friends you accumulate will come together and become a stronger platform on which you can launch into the heavens.  But first, you must be willing to let some things, thoughts, people, traditions go in order to absorb the light and grow.


For this New Moon and Eclipse, I am working with the colors yellow and gold.  That has just been what I'm led to do.  I want to use this time to also honor my ancestors, and have them help me move through the experience.  They have achieved knowledge from the Source and will guide me along the path.   I'm also burning some Ancestor Money as part of my ritual. 

This morning I had an extra long meditative session because I kept seeing visions of a rabbit.   Not only were there mental visions, but also random rabbit sightings and in my Oracle cards.  It's a time of rebirth, fertility, new life. 

I'll be making some new moon candles with sunflower petals, other herbs and crushed plants.  Also I have a yellow candle that I will post pictures of after it's been prepared with my intentions.   Remember to cleanse your space.  Not just the physical but have mental clarity when you do your work, especially during eclipse season.
